Anti Pollution Campaign in CGC Jhanjeri

NCC cadets of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Jhanjeri along with the college staff & officials of 23rd Pb. Bn. NCC, Ropar conducted an awareness drive in the campus on pollution control. NCC Cadets conducted a rally in and around the campus carrying placards bearing Anti Noise and Anti Pollution slogans. The main aim of the rally was to aware the staff and students about harmful effects of the pollution and ways to control it. These students also created awareness among people about Noise Pollution by applying stickers of “NO HORN” on the vehicles passing by the campus. The vehicle owners were informed about the effects of noise pollution and as such not to honk unnecessarily around sensitive places like Hospitals, Schools, Colleges etc. A tree plantation drive was also launched for making environment of CGC Jhanjeri still more pollution free.
 
After this all the Cadets assembled in Parade ground where the representatives of 23 Punjab Batallian NCC Ropar motivated the cadets to continue their fight against noise pollution, air pollution and water pollution. The students and staff of CGC Jhanjeri took pledge to put in the best of their efforts in this direction. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal , President CGC said that the management strongly believes in providing a green and pollution free environment to the students. Dr. D. G Bansal, Director General himself put sticker of “No Horn“on his Car and planted a tree which he promised to look after the growth of this plant personally. He recalled that CGC Jhanjeri has already won a prestigious award for the “Best maintained Campus in Punjab”
