Keep up with your hobbies
While everyone around you will tell you that you need to focus only on studying, that is not true. A healthy mix of study with breaks in between will keep you motivated and fresh. In between studying, take a break to read a few pages from your favorite novel, go for a walk or listen to a couple of your favorite songs. These activities are absolutely necessary for your mental health.
Study smart but don’t slog while studying. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to focus on your weaknesses while studying and not your strengths, for obvious reasons. If you keep re-learning what you already know well, it does not help in your exam preparation. Instead, divide time on your subjects based on what requires your maximum attention.
Eat and exercise
In the stress of studying for such a competitive exam, students often stop eating or forget to eat. But if you don’t eat, you will be unable to study for long stretches of time due to lack of energy. Your body needs nutrition for you to study. And exercise, it keeps the juices in your head flowing. Plus, exercising will keep you refreshed and active and drive away the lethargy that comes with long hours of sitting and studying.
Before you start studying, you need to make a list of all the topics you will be tested on in the exam. You can find a broad list of topics online or ask a professor to help you. However, once you have the list, make sure you stick to those topics. You will already be rushing to finish your syllabus, so why waste time on topics that might not even be on the exam? This will always reduce stress because you will be studying topics only in the list.
Analyze practice exams
One of the most common mistakes students make is ignoring the results of their practice exams. You will take many practice exams in your prep period. After each exam, make sure you go through the answers and analyze your answers to see where you went wrong. Another advantage of this strategy is that you will be able to focus better on which topics to study.
The JEE exam can be extremely stressful for most students, and it is important to be devoid of stress before you start studying. Stress can adversely affect your preparation and subsequently, the results of the exam.
