CGC Jhanjeri Celebrates Army Day

With a view to honour & pay tributes to the brave Indian Army, Chandigarh Group of Colleges celebrated Army Day with great enthusiasm. All the NCC cadets assisted by other volunteer students presented a variety of items full of patriotism and homage to martyrs of India. Lt Gen K.J.Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Bar (Retd) was the Chief Guest. The programme included Solo Songs, Group Songs, Bhangra, Solo Dances, Group Dances, patriotic poems and many other inspiring items. Through a power point presentation, the real working of Indian Armed Forces was displayed before the audience. The skit prepared by the students to highlight the supreme sacrifice of Col Roy brought tears in the eyes of the audience. ShriK.J.Singh gave prizes to Under Officer Ashnish Sharma for the best male cadet & Cadet Summer Kaur for the best female cadet. While addressing the students, Mr. Singh appreciated CGC Jhanjeri for their efforts to honour Indian Army. He advised the students to gain knowledge about the latest technology so that they could make their contribution towards non-contact Army wars which may be cyber wars or even Space Wars in future.
 
Speaking on the occasion, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC congratulated all the NCC cadets for their unique idea of celebrating Army Day in the college. Dr.G.D.Bansal, Director General recalled that the NCC cadets of CGC Jhanjeri were known for their excellence. Under thunderous applause, Dr.Bansal informed the audience that these students had won maximum number of medals in all the Annual Training Camps organised by 23 Punjab Battalion NCC,Roopnagar.
