CGC Jhanjeri Holds Prize Distribution Function

 Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Jhanjeri celebrated Annual Prize Distribution Function-2017 with a lot of pomp & show. Mr. Akhil Choudhary, IPS, SP (Industry & Security) was the chief guest. Mr. Choudhary said that every student possesses some latent talent in him, some in Academics others in sports, arts, cultural activities etc. All these are equally important for achieving success in life. In this function, all the students capturing first position in PTU exams were awarded laptops. For April /May exams, the students bagging this honour include Simranjeet Kaur of 2nd Semester ECE, Jaspreet Kaur of 6th semster CSE while in Nov/Dec exams Gurinder Singh of 3rd Semester Mechanical, Shubham Khajuria of 5th Semester Mechanical & Arzoo of 7th Semester CSE brought this laurel to the college.

Along with these toppers of PTU all the students who won positions in the merit lists of PTU were given cash prizes of Rs. 5000/- each. This includes 18 students for April/ May exams and 26 in Nov/Dec exams. In addition to these winners of Merit lists positions, all the students securing First, Second & Third Positions in their respective classes and all those securing 80% or more marks in PTU exams were given cash prizes & Certificates of Appreciation.

The College also honoured the students who won prizes in various competitions organized by IIT Mandi, PEC Chandigarh, Thapar University, Patiala, LPU Jalandhar & Pushpa Gujral Science City, Jalandhar. The students of Agriculture department who made valuable projects for the benefit of society & the farmers were given hefty cash prizes.

Special honour was given to the team of the students who won second runner up position & cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- in the Smart India Hackathon-2017 Competition organized by the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the management of CGC stands committed  to give all possible facilities to the students. He added that all the students having innovative ideas for different projects will be given complete financial support. Amidst thunderous applause he congratulated the students having won hefty prizes at Smart India Hackathon competition. Dr. G.D Bansal, Director General CGC said that it is a matter of the pride for CGC Jhanjeri that our students are winning prizes in various Technical & Innovative competitions organized by Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, IITs, PEC & Thapar University.
