CGC Jhanjeri Holds Techfest 2018

Techfest 2018 was celebrated by Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri with great pomp & show. A total of 1395 students of 476 teams from 43 colleges & Universities of Punjab including IIT Ropar, PEC Chandigarh, PU Chandigarh, DEC Gurgaon, Govt. Colleges & Schools of Chandigarh & Mohali, LPU Phagwara, Chandigarh University, Chitkara University, DAV Institute of Engineering, MCM DAV College & many other leading colleges of Punjab took part in various Technical, Non Technical, Cultural events and Project Display competition. S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor Chandigarh University cum Chairman CGC was the Chief Guest. With a view to give impartial & a meaningful assessment of the working as well as non working projects made by students of different colleges, Mr. Chandra, a renowned Industrialist of Dera Bassi & Mr. Babban Kumar, Scientist of CSIO, were appointed as judges these projects. Hefty cash prizes & certificates of Appreciation were awarded to winners of Robo War, Robo Race, Hit O Google, CAD Mania, Boat O Float, ‘Draw, bid & sell’, Puzzle Surveying, Fashion Show & cultural events including Folk dances of Punjab & of other states. The evening was mesmerized by the famous Rock Band Nasya and Bollywood singer Aditi Singh Sharma. They made the students dance on the floor with full enthusiasm.
 
Speaking on the occasion, S.Satnam Singh Sandhu congratulated the organizers for such a grand fest. He advised the students to take active part in sports & cultural activities along with academics so that their overall personality growth takes place. Under thunderous applause, he declared that the number of companies visiting the campus for placements of CGC students will be doubled in the coming year. S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC announced a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh for the winners of Go Kart competition and declared full reimbursement of expenses for the development of the solution for Hackathon. He added that all expenses on research & innovative projects will be paid by the management. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General informed the gathering about various achievements of CGC Jhanjeri in academics, sports, cultural activities and projects. He also informed the audience about the enviable placements of students in various MNCs & other leading companies of India because of their overall performance in all fields.
