CGC Jhanjeri honoured by Honorable Chief Minister Himachal Pardesh

Another feather was added to the cap of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, when Himachal Maha Sabha having more than two lakh members belonging to Himachal Pradesh honoured this college for its excellent overall contribution in the field of Technical Education. S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC received award for this achievement from Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh during Annual Function of Himachal Maha Sabha organised in Bhargava auditorium of PGI, Chandigarh. Shri Anurag Thakur, young MP from Hamirpur was the Guest of Honour. CGC Jhanjeri having about 20,000 students on the rolls of CGC campuses includes more than 2000 students from Himachal Pradesh. The college has been given this prestigious honour on account of its excellent performance in academics, sports, extra-curricular activities and a number of projects made by students which have won prizes at the level of IITs, Pushpa Gujral Science City & other prestigious institutions. The most important factor contributing to this achievement of CGC Jhanjeri is the record breaking placements of the students not only of its own colleges but also of a number of other colleges of Punjab & other states.

Expressing his ecstasy over this rare honour, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the management gives top priority to placement of students. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General CGC said that to ensure success of students in interviews of leading MNCs & other companies of India, a complete Pre placement training is given to all the students. Further special extra classes are arranged to make students technically strong. Dr. Bansal revealed that this college has won a number of awards in the past also in various categories. Recently CGC Jhanjeri was conferred Punjab Gaurav Award for “Excellence in Campus Placements” by Capt. Amarinder Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab.
