About the Course

The programme of M.Sc. Fashion Technology adopts a holistic approach towards cultivating postgraduate students for techno managerial roles in the fashion and allied manufacturing sector. At the initial level of B.Sc. Fashion Technology, students are oriented towards the apparel manufacturing industry as they learn various operations and processes involved. At the higher level, the M. Sc. (FT) programme imparts managerial concepts related to operations. The course of M.Sc. (FT) includes Technology subjects related to the engineering of patterns using manual as well as computer-aided design (CAD), Photoshop, Tuka CAD and construction of garments.As such the postgraduate students of Fashion Technology fully understand product specifications and get equipped with detailed knowledge of fibres, yarns and equipment. A thorough understanding of various fibre, yarn and fabric testing equipment and their mechanism makes these students confident of technical issues which arise due to product complexities. This enables them to identify and provide solutions to various problems. During Post Graduate studies, extensive inputs are given in areas of Plant layout, Industrial engineering and Maintenance engineering related to manufacturing of customized dresses.
 

Career Prospects

M.Sc. (F T) students get a plethora of job opportunities in leading companies dealing in the manufacture of dresses and fashion products &  they can start their own boutiques also. As such there is a wide scope in the market for these students.

All those candidates who have passed B.Sc. (Fashion Technology) from a University recognized by UGC.
