With an aim to provide a valuable insight on current scenario of banking industry and enlighten the students with the necessary knowledge required to pursue their career in Banking,“Banking Conclave’ 20” was organized at CGC Jhanjeri. The panel discussion was organized by the Finance Club, Faculty of Management for the students of management and commerce. The panel consisted of eminent personalities from banking industry including. Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Ex-Vice President, HDFC Bank, Mr. Harpal Singh, Ex-GM, Punjab National Bank, Mr. Rakesh Tandon, Punjab, Haryana & Himachal, RBL Bank and Mr. Sumit Roy, Regional Manager, SBI.
The event began with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony. Thereafter, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, a technology driven banking professional, with more than 20 years of experiencegave a brief introduction about the banking industry and enlightened the students about how banks play an important role in the economy.
Mr. Harpal Singh shared his banking experience of 34 years and guided the students how they could make their career in banking. Later, Mr. Rakesh Tandon, narrated his experience as to how banking had refined his skills and made him a comprehensive professional with an entrepreneurial mindset. Mr. Sumit Roy, discussed various skill sets that the students need to acquire if they want to enter the banking industry.
During panel discussion, the speakers highlighted various current issues prevailing in the industry. The discussion followed a question-answer session was arranged, where the students interacted with the guests. They pointed out their doubts and queries which were taken up patiently by the speakers.
Speaking about the conclave, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal said that it is extremely important for the students to remain aware about the latest issues preventing in the society. Dr. G.D Bansal ,Director general said that such meeting provide an opportunity t the students to share the vast knowledge & experience of such stalwarts, at the end , Dr Jaskiran kaur , Principal FOM expressed her gratefulness to the speakers for gearing up students for entering the banking sector.
