CGC FIT CONNECT club launched for taking steps towards Health & Fitness
A healthy mind exists in a healthy body. With a view to keep the students physically fit & healthy, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri organized a novel programme of CGC FIT CONNECT PROGRAMME on the pattern of FIT INDIA MOVEMENT launched by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. A number of experts like Ms. Vaishnavi Boora, Fitness Athlete & Coach, Ms. Nisha Dhaundiyal, International Yoga Player,
Ms. Shobhna Juneja, CEO, Shobhna Yoga Lounge, Mr. Ravish Malhotra & Mr. Vikramjit Singh Mann, Owners, Royal Nutrition House, Dr. Navdeep Sandhu, Owner & Founder, Micah Pharmaceutical, Mr. Arush Dhir, Director Athelonics Hybrid Gym & Swag Shakes, Founder MuscleKart.in were invited to have a panel discussion followed by an interactive session with students. The entire programme was co-ordinated by Ms. Geet, the well known RJ of 94.3 MY FM. Dr. Sandhu, Ms. Boora, Ms. Nisha & Ms. Shobhna shared their personal experience and gave some useful tips to students for remaining fit like getting up early in the morning & doing some exercise or yogas everyday. They advised them to focus more on when to eat rather than what to eat. They pointed out that our body possesses a higher digestion capacity in the morning & forenoon period. As such our dinner should be always light. They emphasized on the importance of good sleep & punctuality of our meals timings. The students took keen interest & asked a large number of questions which were replied by the speakers patiently. The students found the programme extremely useful. At the end all the students & staff member took a pledge that they will do their best to keep themselves fit & keep others also fit.
Speaking about the occasion, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that this campus has been provided with gymnasiums in Boys Hostel as well as Girls hostel, which are equipped with most modern equipments. Dr. G.D Bansal, Director General said that special care is taken to ensure that the food served in our hostels & the canteens is not only tasty but also nutritious.
