Most Innovative College of North India

One more glittering feather was added to the cap of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, when the college won award for being the “Most Innovative Group of Colleges in North India”. The award was given by Top Gallant Media during Iconic Education Summit & Awards 2019 organised at Hotel Novotel, Goa. Dr. Rajneesh Talwar, Principal CGC received this award fromShri Syed ShahnawazHussain, Former Cabinet Minister, Govt. of India & presently National Spokesperson of BJP, in the benign presence of Shri Sanjay ShamraoDhotre (Hon’ble Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Govt. of India), ShriShripadYessoNaik (Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Govt. of India), ShriTarunChugh (National Secretary BJP), ShriNawinSinha (chief Sahayog& Disaster Relief Service BJP), Ms.MugdhaGodse (Indian Film Actress and Model) and Mr. Jay Soni (Indian Film & Television Actor).  Giving details of this award,Dr.G.D.Bansal, Director General CGC said that Topgallant Media invited nominations from various Universities, Colleges, Schools, Health care organisations like hospitals, doctors & business houses under different categories. They analysed & verified the information submitted by the applicants. CGC Jhanjeri has been selected for award of being “the most innovative Engineering College” due to its students having won a large number of prizes in innovative project competitions held by IITs & other leading colleges. Some of these prizes include first positionin IITRoorkee in Technical Event Competition, 1st position with cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- in Start Up & B-Plan competition at DAVIET, Jalandhar, First position cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- at Smart India Hackathon – a Pan India Competition organised by Govt. of India, 1st position with cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- in National Electric Super Carting Championship at Telangana, First prize for two projects at PEC, Chandigarh, First position at IIT Mandi, First position in Technical Paper Presentation at IIT Delhi and a huge number of other prizes. 

Speaking about the enviable honour showered on CGC Jhanjeri, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President said that the management gives all possible facilities to its students for converting their innovative ideas into projects useful for the society. Dr.G.D.Bansal, Director General said that as a result of continuous research & development activities of the staff & students, a number of patents have already been filed by the college. Dr.Bansal added that as a policy all expenses on research work are borne by the management while all the commercial benefits of an approved patent are transferred to its inventors.
