celebrate Diwali with the theme Plastic Free Planet

NCC cadets of CGC Jhanjeri along with the staff members organize an event to aware the public about increase in plastic pollution. The event started from the MC Office Mohali, the NCC cadets of Army and Navy wing distributed the jute and paper bag inside the MC Office. Also they met with MC Commissioner, Mr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Commissioner (IAS), cadets told them that they have started a new mission that on this diwali “we will never use plastic bags and also told others not to use the plastic bags instead of this we all should use jute and paper bags”. IAS Bhupinder Pal Singh praises the cadets for their initiative and encourages them. After this there was a photo session with the Commissioner of MC office IAS Bhupinder Pal Singh.

After this all the NCC cadets along with the staff members assemble in the market of the Phase 7, Mohali. After reaching at the market , the event started with the energetic dance performance of NCC girls to gather attention of locals , after the dance performance the program was hosted by U.O Suraj Pratap Singh , he brief about the plastic pollution and also told the locals about the  mission which is started by CGC Jhanjeri on this Diwali. After this Cadets Abhishek Katoch gave a speech on the plastic pollution and its effects and then there was a poem by Cadet Manjinder and Cadet Jyoti. At last there was Street play by the Cadet Yogender and his team , the tittle of the play is “PLASTIC BAN” in which they show the current situation of the people regarding the use of plastic and aware them about its dangerous effect.After this the speech was delivered by Dean Academics Dr. Ashwani K. Sharma. They told people about the effect caused by the plastic and told them that “to save our planet we should never use the plastic” and at last they said that “be the part of solution, not part of pollution”. At last all the cadets along with the staff members of CGC Jhanjeri greets the people and distribute them the Jute bags.
