It was teachers performing on the stage and the students enjoying in the auditorium. This was the scenario of Teachers Day, celebrated in Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri. The day began with rich floral tributes offered to Bharat Ratna, Saravpalli Dr. Radhakrishanan, the unparalleled teacher of the country having been nominated for Nobel Prize for a record number of twenty seven times.
On this auspicious day, the management honoured all the teachers for their excellent contribution towards the growth of the college. About 20 teachers having obtained upto 100% results in various examinations conducted by IKG Punjab Technical University were given cash prizes & Appreciation Certificates. Some of them include Ms. Sonia Verma, Ms. Narinder Kaur, Ms. Parminder Kaur, Ms. Sonia Bhukra, Mr. Paramvir Singh, Mr. Sarabjit Singh, Mr. Kuldeepak Saini, Ms. Hemlata Sharma, Ms. Akanksha Thakur, Mr. Rajnish, Ms. Vibhuti Sharma, Ms. Shruti Gakhar, Ms. Monika, Mr. Anshul, Mr. Ankush, Ms. Jasveen, Ms. Ishtpreet Kaur, Ms. Neha Sharma, Ms. Jasmeen Kaur and Ms. Sonam.
The teachers of the college presented cultural items like group dance, solo dance, songs, poems, ‘Tappe’, Sher-o-Shayri and other lively items like Fun games, Paper Dance, Musical Chair Race etc. Throughout the function, the students kept the hall thundering with clappings and loud appreciations. “Our teachers are excellent not only in academics but in other activities also” commented the students.
Speaking on the occasion, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the management can provide beautiful infrastructure, modern equipment, rich libraries and other facilities but the real colours and credibility to an institute are given by teachers. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General congratulated the teachers for their dedication, sincerity & loyalty towards the institute. He appreciated that the present enviable status of CGC is due to the hard work done by its teachers & students which has resulted in record breaking response of parents & companies during admissions and placements of our students year after year.
