With an aim to celebrate fashion and showcase talent on one platform, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Jhanjeri organized a state level cultural function Fashionista – 2019. All the schools of Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and other adjoining states were invited for this function. A record number of  about 1500 students from 19 different schools including Govt. Girls Senior Sec. School Patiala, Scholar’s field School Patiala, Meritorious School Patiala, Police DAV Public School Patiala, Heritage Sr. Sec. School Patiala, Mata Sahib Kaur Kharar, Sewa Samiti School Ambala, Jitender Veer Sarvhitkari Model Sr. Sec. School Mohali, Shivalik Public School Mohali, SD Public School Patiala, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Public Sr. Sec. School, Bhartiya public School Ambala, BSH Arya Sen. Sec. School Sohana, Greenways School Chamkaur Sahib, Guru Nanak Foundation Public School Patiala, DAV Public School Patiala, Khalsa Sr. Sec. School Kharar, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sr. Sec. School Chandigarh and Paragon Sr. Sec. School Mohali participated in this function. Mrs. Aman Grewal, crowned with the prestigious honour of Mrs. India World Wide-2014, was the Chief Guest. During the function various cultural events like Rangoli, Poster making, Food without Fire, Card Making, Just a Minute and Speech Competition were arranged. Bhangra presented by the team of CGC Jhanjeri made all the audience dance in the auditorium. The modeling competition stole hearts of all the young students. Apart from cultural programe a number of stalls including games stalls & information stalls were put up by Fashion Deptt, NCC, Admission Counselling Team, Sports Dept., Engg. Students, Nutrition & Dietetics, Management Deptt., Deptt of International Affairs, Training & Placement Cell of the college. The winners of all the events were awarded trophies and certificates. On the basis of total number of prizes won by a school, Scholar Field School Patiala, Meritorious School Patiala, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Old police Line Patiala & DAV Public School Patiala were declared as the winners of the First, Second and bracketed Third positions who were given cash prizes of Rs. 10,000/-, Rs. 7500/-, Rs. 5000/- & Rs. 5000/- respectively along with trophies & certificates. Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Grewal advised the students about the importance of hard-work and shared the mantra for success. She said that success was directly proportional to hard work and no success comes overnight. 

Congratulating the organizers, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that this function proves extremely useful for the school students in making up their mind regarding what to do after 10+2 and from which college. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General said that the entire function witnessed a healthy spirit of competition among the participants. He congratulated Dr. Jaskiran Kaur, Principal Management, all the staff members & students for organising such a beautiful function.
