With a view to provide international exposure to students & give them an opportunity to carry out part of their studies in leading foreign universities or get degrees of these Universities, the Faculty of Management at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri (CGC) organized a highly informative session in association with IKG Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. Mr. Saurabh Sharma Assistant Registrar, Planning & External Programmers, IKGPTU was the keynote speaker.
Mr. Sharma gave an elaborate description of various exchange programmes available for the students studying of MBA, B.com, BBA (SIM) ,BBAand BCA. He said that it was a golden opportunity for students to receive world class exposure and pursue world class studies in leading Universities.
Mr. Saurabh Sharma informed that IKGPTU has collaborations with 16 Universities and Institutions from Canada, USA, UK, Australia, and Malaysia etc, under these MOUs Ater completing two years of studies in CGC Jhanjeri ,a student can enroll himself and become a part of Yorkville university, University of the Fraser Valley and Concordia University in Canada and Nottingham University U.K & many more. These students will complete their course by studying for next two years in these universities and through Credit Transfers and Exchange programme. This arrangement will open up various job opportunities in these countries in. He also detailed about the fee structure and documentations required for adopting these programmes.
Students took a keen interest in the session. They along with their parents had a one to one round with Mr. Sharma who clarified all their doubts and queries.
Speaking on the occasion, S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that a large number of students remain interested in studying abroad but they are not able to afford expenses of a foreign university for four years. This MOU will reduce the financial burden to nearly half. Dr. G.D Bansal Director General said that under this program the students will also get opportunities to explore placement avenues in foreign countries.
