With a view to increase employability of students in Automobile Industry, CGC Jhanjeri arranged an elaboratepractical training by the leading Automobile giant M/S BOSCH Ltd. The main objective of this training was to introduce students to the working of sensors and actuators of a vehicle and their connection with ECU (engine control unit).Thetraining covered presentation and practical work. The presentation included basics of gasoline engine, engine control unit, sensors, actuators like crank shaft position sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor, lambda sensor, the familiarization of sensor, position of sensors on vehicle and its working principle, diagnostic basics, sensor testing, the signal capturing through oscilloscope and KTS basics. The practical session covered the basic installation of KTS on a car, USB connection or Bluetooth connection, finding ofVehicle Identification No. and engine diagnosis including permanent and temporary error scanning. Detecting faults of sensors and actuators with the help of BOSCH KTS System was also discussed. Students were also explained about automobile industry engine control unit and the KTS, which is an electronic scanning device, used for sensor and actuators testing.
Speaking about this Training, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that such practical trainings bridge the gap between what we teach in a classroom & what a student finds in industry. Dr.G.D.Bansal, Director General said that Mechanical Engineering students have huge placement opportunities in automobile industry. With this training all automobile industries will find the students of CGC Jhanjeri much more capable &useful than the students of any other college of the region.
