CGC Kabaddi Winner

Apart from possessing academic excellence, the students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri (CGC) give remarkable performance in sports also. Keeping up this trend they have shown this talent by winning IKG PTU’s Inter College Kabaddi Tournament for Men. As many as 10 colleges participated in this Tournament which was held at BCET Gurdaspur. In the first match, CGC Jhanjeri, made a clean sweep by beating BBSBEC Fatehgarh Sahib (68-22). They won semi-final match by defeating VJY Chandigarh College by (65-34). The final was played by them against the host college BCET Gurdaspur, in which CGC Jhanjeri won by (71-34). With this CGC Jhanjeri won the prestigious trophy for the year 2019-20.

Expressing his ecstasy, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC conveyed his congratulations to the winners and their coach, Kamaljeet Singh Gill. He said that sports play and important role in overall personality of a student. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General said the students of CGC have been giving excellent performance in various Inter College Competitions organised by IKG PTU Jalandhar. He recalled that this victory is the second consecutive win and the trophy will be permanently retained by this college if we win this tournament next year also. Dr. Bansal added that CGC Jhanjeri has already won 9 trophies, 59 gold, 36 silver and 43 bronze medals in various Inter College Sports Competitions held by IKG PTU, Jalandhar.
