With a view to give practical knowledge on the working of a stock exchange, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri organised an industrial visit to Securities and Exchange Board of India, Chandigarh. The trip was arranged by the Department of Management for the students of BBA with an objective to provide an insight into the actual working environment and gain practical knowledge about the procedures of the Regulator of the Indian securities market.
Mr. Jubin Mehta, AGM, SEBI gave a detailed presentation and enlightened the students about the functions and vested powers of SEBI. He informed them how SEBI plays a role in protecting the interest of investors from manipulative trading and fraudulent chain based companies. In addition, Mr. Mehta guided students as to how they could take SEBI as a career option.
Towards the end, a memento was presented to Mr. Jubin as a token of gratitude and to thank him for his valuable support.
Speaking about such visits, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that such industrial visits add up to the practical knowledge and exposure of our students and enrich their capabilities to analyse the realistic world around them. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General said that the industrial visits are an important part of the students curriculum at CGC Jhanjeri and are aimed at preparing the students for future.
