Various activites have been organised by the Faculty of Management, CGC Jhanjeri as a part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 under Swachh Bharat Mission for the students of management to adopt sustainable practices and facilities through awareness creation and health education.
The day began with a Swachhta Pledge taking Ceremony, whereby all the staff and students present undertook to start a chain to indulge themselves in such practices which not only contributes towards sustainable development but also influence others to do the same.
Thereafter, a short video clip titled “You- A Step towards Clean India” was shown which highlighted that every individual can and should contribute towards making his locality clean. Later, a debate was conducted where the students were asked to put forward their views on the topic “Say No to Plastic”. At the end, it was concluded that although the use of plastic cannot be totally stopped but their unnecessary usage can be avoided.
During the day, a slogal writing competition was also arranged, where the students participated enthusiastically. Later, a short speech was delivered by a student focusing on the day to day practices which a person should adopt to minimise the harm caused to environment.
Towards the end of the day, Dr. Jaskiran Kaur, Principal, FOM interacted with the students present there and enquired about their personal initiatives taken in this respect. She motivated the students and encouraged them to contribute towards sustainable development.
On the occasion, Dr. G.D Bansal, Director General, said that CGC has always supported cleanliness and wish that the drive on cleanliness would continue with the same zeal even after the pakhwada celebrations are over.
