CGC Management Fest

To synergies the intellect, vigor and curiosity of young minds; and to encourage self-driven future entrepreneurs, Faculty of Management organized the annual Management Fest at CGC, Jhanjeri with an aim to bring together like-minds on one platform. ‘Earth Friendly and Plastic Free Environment’ was the theme for this year. A total of 25 colleges from all over Punjab and Chandigarh participated in the event. The college witnessed a gathering of more than five thousand people within the college campus.

Mr. Surjeet Singh, IPS, Deputy Inspector General Chandigarh was the Chief Guest for the day. He congratulated the students, faculty members & CGC Jhanjeri Management for Succesfully Organising GYAN MANTHAN Fest providing students an unique opportunity to showcase their talent. Also, Dr. Sudesh Chikkara, Director Women Studies, KUK, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The occasion was joined by other esteemed guests….. . The fest began with a warm welcome of the dignitaries by Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General, CGC and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC; followed by the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony. Thereafter, Dr. Bansal, conveyed the strong message of ‘Earth Friendly and Plastic Free Environment’ by introducing the audience and the guests with our theme for this year. He also, delivered a short dialogue on the activities to be undertaken during the whole day. The day began with beautiful folk dances displaying our diverse Himachali, Punjabi and Rajasthani cultures. Later, the Chief Guest was honoured by S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC and the fest was declared ‘OPEN’.

The fest comprised of a variety of technical and non-technical events. Students presented their ideas on a variety of professional events like the Best CEO/ managers, Panel discussions, Stock Bazzar, Logo designing, Coding Decoding etc. The students participated in the wide range of management activities like puzzle solving, management games, mind zone battle, extempore etc with full zeal and enthusiasm . Students were, furthermore spotted involving passionately in other creative activities like photography, rangoli making, modeling, sketching, best out of waste etc.

Apart from the sponsored stalls of eateries, a number of stalls were also put up by the students of various colleges. The partaking students competed for cash awards showcasing heritage, presenting mouthwatering nutritious treats, exhibiting a fun game-point and an eye-catching shopping corner in their respective stalls. 

In the evening, a prize distribution ceremony was held where the DR Sudesh Chhikara Director women gave away gift hamper and cash prize. The day finally came to an end with a vibrant and high-spirited performance by the Bhangra group as all danced to the joyous beats and swayed to the music with an enticing fashion show put up by the students.
