Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Jhanjeri organized CEC-J Hackathon

For immediate release: An internal CEC-J Hackathon was conducted successfully in offline mode at Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Jhanjeri campus, for short listing teams for the Smart India Hackathon 2022. The dignitaries invited were – Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig (Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board) as Chief Guest, and Mr. Puneet Mahajan (Sales Head, VIVO Punjab), Mr. Gurmeet Sharma (Chief Operating Officer, EESPL) and Mr. Sunny Kumar (Founder and CEO, Chandigarh Institute of Drones) as Guests of Honor.

The event started with Lamp Lighting Ceremony following which the participants were addressed by the respected Executive Director, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Director Engineering Dr. Rajneesh Talwar and the Guests of Honor.

20 teams had participated in the contest. The participating teams were divided into two groups: Hardware and Software. The competition venue for the Hardware groups was the Workshop where they demonstrated the working of their hardware based projects to the judges. Indeed, the projects they came up with was full of innovative ideas from student engineers with the goal of creating a functioning product (or Prototype) by the end of the event. No wonders, this print-like event was so full with the active participation Out of 20, 10 teams have been shortlisted that will be representing CEC Jhanjeri at the National Level SIH 2022. Of the 10 shortlisted teams, top 5 teams were given gifts by VIVO. The top 5 teams were as follows:

 Techy Satans ? Thunder Riders ? CJB ? Panthers ? AS Coders

The winning teams were awarded the winning certificates and rest of the teams was awarded with participation certificates by the Honourable Chief Guest, Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig. After that, the Chief Guest was honoured with a memento by respected Dr. Rajneesh Talwar and the Guests of Honor. Lastly the Guests of Honor were thanked by being presented with the mementos.

Congratulating the winners of Hackathon competition, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President of Chandigarh group Of Colleges stated, “At North India’s fastest growing educational institute, CGC Jhanjeri we encourage new and innovative ideas and are happy that the students came up with an innovative solution to the problem statement. To promote innovative thinking and entrepreneur mindset in young students we will be organizing more such events in the forthcoming too.”
