Insights from the 2nd National Seminar on Emerging Trends in Law and Technology

Chandigarh Law College, at CGC Jhanjeri, conducted its highly anticipated 2nd National Seminar on "Emerging Trends in Law and Technology" sponsored by the prestigious Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), North Western Regional Centre, Punjab University, Chandigarh. Under the able leadership of Dr. Indu Bala, the seminar convened an esteemed gathering of legal scholars, technologists, and students to delve into the intricate intersection of law and technology.

The seminar boasted an impressive presentation of 83 papers across three technical sessions. These papers comprised contributions from various educational institutions nationwide, demonstrating a rich tapestry of research and scholarly discourse. Of the total presentations, 47 were from esteemed institutions outside Chandigarh Law College, while 25 were from CLC students, and 11 were from faculty members, underlining the event's diverse and inclusive nature.

The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, with Dr. K.P. Singh, D.G.P. Haryana (Retd.), serving as the esteemed Chief Guest. Mr. Gurcharan Singh, an Eminent Cyber Faculty member from the Central Detective Training Institute, Chandigarh, delivered a captivating keynote address, shedding light on various techno-legal aspects and perspectives. Prof. (Dr.) Gurpreet Pannu, Former Dean of the Faculty of Law at Punjab University, Patiala, and Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, former Head, Department of Laws, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab), along with the management, shared their valuable insights during the inaugural session.

The seminar commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the enlightenment that ensued from the intellectual discussions. The stage was graced by luminaries such as Prof. (Dr.) Tufail Ahmed Sir, Director of Chandigarh Law College, Prof. (Dr.) Namita Vyas Joshi, Dean CLC, and Seminar Convener Dr. Indu Bala, among others. The sessions were conducted meticulously by co-conveners Dr. Pinky Bangarh and Dr. Navpreet.

Following the inaugural session, three technical sessions ensued, facilitated by esteemed chairpersons, including Prof. (Dr.) Gurpreet Pannu, Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Dr. Gurdeep Kaur, and Dr. Jaskaran Singh. These sessions provided a platform for scholars to present their research, with presentations spanning a diverse array of topics, from Panjab University, Chandigarh, to Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala, and beyond.

The valedictory session, conducted after a refreshing high tea break, witnessed the presentation of a comprehensive report by Seminar Convener Dr. Indu Bala. Dr. Bala eloquently summarized the seminar's objectives and outcomes, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders for their invaluable contributions. Certificates were distributed to participants as a token of appreciation for their scholarly endeavors.

In her closing remarks, Prof. (Dr.) Namita Vyas Joshi extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, sponsors, and organizers for their unwavering support and dedication. The seminar concluded on a high note, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of legal academia.
