Wastewater Management Facility

Wastewater management is an important approach to protect water resources and it is defined as the collection, treatment, and reuse of wastewater. In wastewater collection network as one of important infrastructures, undesirable performance can lead to different problems. The basic function of wastewater treatment is to speed up the natural processes by which water is purified. There are two basic stages in the treatment of wastes, primary and secondary, which are outlined here. In the primary stage, solids are allowed to settle and removed from wastewater.

Wastewater Treatment Process

  1. Preliminary Treatment. Screening and Pumping
  2. Primary Treatment. Next, the wastewater enters primary settling tanks where the flow of water slows down
  3. Secondary Treatment. Aeration and Final Settling
  4. Disinfection
  5. Sludge Treatment
  6. Waste-to-Energy
  7. Four common ways to treat wastewater include physical water treatment, biological water treatment, chemical treatment, and sludge treatment
