CGC Jhanjeri Navigates the Research Landscape with Five-Day Faculty Develop

Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri (CGC Jhanjeri) recently concluded a dynamic five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled "Navigating the Research Landscape: Guide to Writing Research Papers." The program, aimed at enhancing the research capabilities of internal faculty members, was a resounding success.

Dr. Vinay Goyal, Executive Director of CGC Jhanjeri, set the tone for the FDP during the inaugural session, highlighting the pivotal role of research paper publications in personal and organizational development. Emphasizing the importance of research culture, he motivated faculty members to leverage the FDP for technical guidance and hands-on training in writing research papers.

Throughout the program, renowned guest speakers graced the event, sharing their invaluable insights and experiences. Eminent scientist Dr. Manjeet Kaur, a distinguished member of CERN Geneva, kickstarted the sessions with a captivating recount of her 50-year research journey. Dr. S. K. Kansal from Punjab University shed light on the basics of research paper writing and the significance of literature review, while Dr. Rupinder Singh from NITTTER Chandigarh elucidated strategies for securing research funding and drafting proposals.

The program also featured sessions by Dr. Balwinder Raj from NIT Jalandhar, who delved into core research domains of electronics engineering, and Dr. Harpreet Singh from IIT Ropar, who inspired participants to embark on impactful research ventures. Dr. Ravneet Kaur and Dr. Kunal Gagneja conducted practical sessions on formatting research articles using latex, lyx, and overleaf, facilitating hands-on learning.

Furthermore, Dr. Nuper Gupta emphasized the significance of research culture in social science and management, while Dr. Kiran Aggarwal conducted a training workshop on the effective use of Mandley software for research writing. Dr. Rupak Chakravarty, an expert in information science, enlightened participants on tools like Mendley, VOSVIEWER, and R-Software for research problem design and article formatting.

Reflecting on the FDP's impact, CGC Jhanjeri's faculty members expressed newfound motivation and enriched knowledge in research methodologies. The program was aimed toward the management’s goal of fostering a vibrant research culture within the institution, equipping faculty members with essential skills and insights to navigate the dynamic research landscape.
